FAQs

Please read our Park Rules and Policies.

DO YOU HAVE WIFI OR CABLE?

Complimentary Wi-Fi access is provided. Wi-Fi speed is impacted by usage which is high between 5:00 PM and 12:00 AM. We do not guarantee Wi-Fi access at every site. Our system is designed to support email, messaging and similar communications. There is no cable at the resort.

CAN I HAVE A CAMPFIRE?

You bet!! This is a good question to ask when making reservations at campgrounds in the area. ALL of our sites have BBQ grills/campfire pits AND picnic tables. We have bundled, dry firewood for sale at the office.  The Hungry Horse Ranger District posts the current fire danger–if the danger has reached the “High” or “Extreme” level, campfires will be restricted.

CAN YOUR PARK HANDLE MY COACH (BIG RIG) AND TOW VEHICLE?

Sure can…on a nice, long pull-through site with room for your slide-outs and awnings. We can accommodate rigs to 45′ towing a car or truck. (This is another good question to ask when making campground reservations.)

CAN WE BRING THE DOG(S) OR CAT(S) TO YOUR CAMPGROUND?

Sure, but you must keep the pet on a leash, (cats too!)…county regulations say so.  We also have a fenced dog park.

WHAT ABOUT TAKING MY DOG ON THE TRAILS IN GLACIER NATIONAL PARK?

Pets are allowed in the park, but special regulations apply. Pets are not allowed on any park trails. Pets are only allowed in drive-in campgrounds, along park roads open to motor vehicles, and in picnic areas. Pets must be on a leash no longer than six feet and under physical restraint or caged. They may not be left unattended for any length of time. Kennels are available in several towns surrounding the park.

DO I NEED TO BE AFRAID OF THE BEARS?

Hmmm…That’s a tough one. Generally, no. We have never had anyone attacked and eaten by a bear here at the campground. Really. We HAVE had black bears in camp but that was mostly because some untidy campers left food out at their site. Bears will get into your cooler, pet food, tent or anywhere else they can find food. All food/pet food must be stored in your hard-sided vehicle after eating. If food is left out at your site while you are away, we will have to confiscate it. And…if we are hungry, WE might just eat it! No, we’ll give it back, I promise. Please keep your camp site clean!! We have seen bears here, but they have never bothered anyone sleeping in a tent or doing anything else, and I’d like to keep it that way. Everyone wants to see the bears, but it is best to view them from a distance…say Glacier National Park! Visit Glacier’s Bear Page to learn all about black bears and grizzly bears!

When you check in, your map will show the location of the bear proof dumpster.

DO YOU HAVE HOT SHOWERS AND DO THEY COST EXTRA?

Yes, we have wonderful, clean, and private hot showers. There is no extra charge as you will find at some other campgrounds.

WHEN SHOULD I RESERVE MY SITE?

Reservations can be made all season long. If you’re planning a trip here for the upcoming year, we begin accepting reservations after October 1st. It is best to reserve early (Oct - January) if you plan to arrive during the peak season (mid-June through mid-August). Reservations can be made online or by phone.

CAN I INVITE THE IN-LAWS TO STAY AT MY SITE?

If the in-laws and their kids, (or other family members, or friends) are riding in the same vehicle with you, the only charge would be for more than 4 people. (Grandma and Grandpa in your RV would be extra). If the in-laws are in their own vehicle, they will have to rent their own site. This is standard practice throughout the private campground industry. State and National parks have different policies. Reserve early and we can make sure your sites are in close proximity.

CAN I STAY LONGER THAN MY RESERVATION?

Space is reserved on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you have reserved your site for 5 days and decide at the last minute that you want to stay an extra couple of days, we will do our best to accommodate you. During peak season, (June 22nd through mid-August) it is sometimes difficult to accommodate every request, especially for full hook-up sites. It’s not that we don’t want you to stay, but others have made reservations and we may already have rented the site for the day you are leaving. I promise we will do our best to take care of everyone as we hate to disappoint. But please understand and reserve early, if possible.

WHAT IS YOUR RESERVATION/CANCELLATION POLICY?

Please visit our Park Rules and Policies page for reservation/cancellation policies.

CAN I USE STAKES FOR MY SCREENED HOUSE IN THE RV SITE?

No. Stakes are not permitted at Mountain Meadow RV Park in the RV sites, weighted anchors only. If guests don’t comply with this request, they could damage our septic system and be held liable.

WHEN IS YOUR BUSIEST TIME, OR LEAST BUSIEST?

Our busiest weeks are the last week of June through the middle of August. September is a wonderful time to visit as the weather is usually mild and the crowds after Labor Day, have gone home!

WHAT WILL THE WEATHER BE LIKE WHEN I GET THERE?

In general, the nights are usually cool after the sun sets behind the mountains. Perfect weather for a campfire and marshmallow roast! Be sure to bring a warm jacket as Logan Pass in Glacier National Park can have snow any day of the year!

WHAT’S THE ALTITUDE AT YOUR CAMPGROUND?

Our altitude is 3,200′. Logan Pass in Glacier is just under 7,000′.

CAN I DRIVE MY BIG RIG OVER THE GOING TO THE SUN HIGHWAY IN GLACIER?

No. Vehicles longer than 21′ by 8′ wide (including mirrors) are not allowed over Logan Pass on the 24-mile stretch of road between Avalanche Creek on the West side of the Continental Divide, and the Sun Point area on the East side of the Divide.

HOW ARE THE MOSQUITOES/BUGS/SNAKES/CREEPY CRAWLERS/POISON IVY AT YOUR CAMPGROUND?

We generally don’t have much of a problem with mosquitoes or other bugs. There is NO poison ivy or oak. The only snakes are those little harmless garter snakes we used to pick up when we were kids. On occasion, there are some strange looking black snail/slug things, but these are also harmless. Kids love ’em!

DO I NEED A MONTANA FISHING LICENSE TO FISH IN YOUR POND?

No…it’s a private pond so no license is necessary. Fishing is allowed with ONLY Barbless Flies, no lures, or hooks are permitted. It’s a great place to teach your kids how to Fly Fish.
